Event Description:
The Japan/America Society of Kentucky (JASK) has supported cultural exchange between Japanese and Americans in Kentucky since Toyota’s arrival in 1987. This summer, our third annual Summer Festival will bring Japanese and Kentuckians together for a large-scale summer program showcasing Japanese games, music, activities, cuisine and culture.
JASK has over 200 corporate members in Kentucky, most of which are in Central Kentucky. From membership alone, we expect over 500 visitors at our event. However, last year nearly 2,000 Kentuckians joined our event altogether. The allure of Japan for kids and adults has drawn the attention of many Kentuckians over the years. The Summer Festival promises to grow year after year.
We plan to have food vendors sell traditional Japanese ‘summertime’ foods. We will also do some crafts such as Japanese flower arrangements, Kimono try-it-out corner, Origami, Tea Ceremony, Japanese Summer Festival game and Calligraphy. A few vendors will come with goods like Japanese paper, Jimbei, Happi coats, Pokemon cards, Hello Kitty goods, and Japanese comic books. We are also planning karate and traditional Japanese Taiko performance, as well as games for kids.
Sponsorship Request:
We request that your company sponsor this event either as a Primary Sponsor ($5,000) or Key Sponsor ($1,000). Donors will also be recognized who contribute in any amount less than $500. Contributions in any amount are essential to the success of the Summer Festival. Sponsor benefits are detailed below.
Our estimated cost is $10,000 for the Festival. This includes lease of the park and its employees, publicity, rental of equipment, and performance fees.
Your contribution will enable us to share Japan with Central Kentucky. This festival gives our citizens a chance to enjoy unique, engaging aspects of Japan’s culture at one of our finest parks. It will be an exuberant atmosphere with many activities targeting the interests of every age group.
In our advertisements for this program, we will include your company’s logo if you are a Primary or Key sponsor. Advertisements will go to over 200 companies that are JASK members, reaching their many employees. Further publicity on LexGo.com, in Smiley Pete publications, at schools, Japanese restaurants, and stores throughout Lexington draws broad attention to the Festival and to your brand. There will also be at least one very large banner at the event which will carry sponsor logos.
We will also reserve space for your company to set up an optional table or tent at the Festival. At this kiosk, we request that you prepare some activity related to Japan to accompany any company information that you would like festival guests to take home. Any such set-up will be at your expense.
If you would like to sponsor this program, please contact us. If not, we hope you will come enjoy this exciting new JASK program.
JASK is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation: EIN 61-1134245. Sponsors must be JASK members.
