Our manufacturing client east of Lexington, KY is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager for their facility to take care of the day to day operation of the Accounting Department.  Specifically, the Assistant Accounting Manager is expected to:  prepare accurate monthly financial statements, assure compliance with GAAP & J-Sox, communicate with the Shared Service and Data Processing center, monitor, initiate and reconcile all cash management and banking transactions, perform J-Sox activities as a self-assessor, audit travel and other general expense reimbursements, ensure all tax requirements are met, coordinate control of all fixed assets and capitalization tracking.


The Assistant Accounting Manager should also be able to understand all processes of the accounting department in order to support staff and ensure all functions are completed correct and timely.  Must be able to communicate, collaborate, build rapport with other departments and provide training/assist associates in the completion of travel reimbursement and other paperwork.


Candidates must have: a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; 2-4 years’ manufacturing and cost accounting experience (automotive industry preferred); strong computer skills, particularly with Excel spreadsheets; excellent oral and written communication skills; some SOX experience preferred.  Candidates must be able to work independently, supervise staff, have excellent attention to detail, ability to work in a team environment and work the hours necessary to assist the Accounting Manager. Salary $60K +/- and comprehensive benefits package.
