JASK has supported cultural exchange between Japanese and Americans in Kentucky since Toyota’s arrival in 1987.  This August we announce our 2nd Annual JAPAN! Summer Festival, a large-scale outdoor summer event for Kentuckians and their families.  Come explore Japan - enjoy Japanese cuisine and culture!

Program Highlights:
  • Large open area near Shelter 1 will be dotted with games, activities, and mini-classes all focused on Japan.
    • Origami - paper folding
    • Shuji - calligraphy (write your name in Japanese)
    • Kimono - try on a kimono, snap some pictures
    • Nintendo WII Tournament
  • Japanese food - local restaurant will serve traditional summer foods from Japan
  • Japanese Flea Market - Japanese families will sell a wide variety of goods you can't find in America
  • Performances - various artists, such as martial artists and musicians will share their talents
  • Special Feature: TAIKO Traditional Japanese Drum Troupe from Dayton, OH
