Ho Etsu Taiko
Ho Etsu Taiko, a collective of musicians with a fresh take on the art of Japanese drumming, will be the Main Event at this year's festival. Their deep Chicago roots ground their work in a variety of musical styles, from Jazz to Latin and Hip Hop. They work to spread joy and vitality through each and every drumbeat. \

Japanese Food
Yakisoba, Sushi, Gyudon, Ramen, and much more! The Japan Festival will be jammed packed with good Japanese food as well as Japanese snacks to take home. Stop by one of the many booths to get some delicious Japanese food and don't forget to make your way over to the JASK Booth for a refreshing drink and snow-cone to wash it down with!

Giant Pokemon "Go"!

Pokemon Go is portmanteau of "pocket monsters," and an insanely popular Japanese franchise with the an insanely long history.  In Pokemon, monsters roam the lands, and the goal is to find, capture, and train them.  Join others as they battle against each other.  Look for Kentucky's largest Pikachu... 

American Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course
In partnership with the Ninja Warrior Project of Lexington- The Japan/America Society of Kentucky is sponsoring a free Ninja Warrior obstacle course for this years festival.  (Ages 5 to Adult) 
Japan Workshop Series

Stop by the Workshop tent throughout the day for seminars on Japanese Cooking, Ikebana demonstration (Japanese Flower Arrangement),
 Martial Arts, etc.
